It's getting to be heated vest weather once again in Silicon Valley.
This'll be my first full season with the heated vest, and I'm loving it already. Between the heated grips, the hand guards, the vest, and the Kilimanjaro jacket: winter, bring it on! Booooya.
I rode home from work last night in the November 5:30pm darkness; it was about 50 degrees and misting ever so slightly. Rush hour traffic was backed up, moving just fast enough that I wasn't comfortable lane splitting. So I did the only thing I could do, really: crank up the heated vest, switch to Jimmy Buffet's Feeding Frenzy on the iPod, and sing along.
"She said I can't go back to America soon
So goddamn cold it's gonna snow until June
Yeah, they're freezin' up in Buffalo, stuck in their cars
And I'm lyin' here 'neath the sun and the stars"
-Manana.

Carolyn -
Ahhhhh....the hand guards. Are those the KLR hand guards you talked about and if so did you have to do any 'modifications'/dremeling to either one to get them to fit? A friend of mine gave me his old KLR hand guards but they were green and didn't fit quite right. I didn't bother to 'carve' them any as they were green and my bike is a red SV like yours.

They're actually handguards off a Suzuki dirtbike...I don't remember offhand exactly, but I think it was a DR-Z400 (I'll try to dig up the receipt).
I did have to dremel a bit off of the right hand one, because the adjustable brake lever I'd bought was a weeee bit too thick.
I should do a write-up of this....adding to my To Do list :)
