All that equipment should be nothing compared to all the stuff you had on your cross country trip. LOL

Hee, you're right! It actually does weigh a lot less than all my cross country stuff did. ;)

Did you see the hack I did with the Kildala rack and JC Whitney top box, over in F650.com?

I use my bike as a cargo carrier some; 44 pounds of antennas in a 4' box on one trip, a 2KW generator and 6 gallon fuel tank on another trip.

And on the other subject, I've picked up a set of Nordic skates, and need to find some ice to learn to use them.

FYI -- Doug's URL got chopped off in the comment, so here it is again: http://tinyurl.com/63v7l9

That rack looks really nice. My Givi one vibrates like mad -- I should look into the Kildala. I bet I can move my Givi adapter onto it without a lot of trouble.

As for ice -- there's public ice rinks all over the bay area. :) I know at least one in Oakland, since a bunch of my hockey friends skate there. You'd definitely get awesome double-takes and funny looks from people who've never seen Nordic skates. :D

Hi Carolyn. Great blog. Just spend about an hour going through all your posts.

My name is Henriette, living in Copenhagen, Denmark.

I am dreaming of a BMW F650 GS but I am quite short 5,2 feet and I didnt think this type of model was possible for me - and now I saw the pictures of you on the BMW.

Is it all right for you?

My boyfriend and I are planning a trip from Alaska to Argentina in 2010 and the Beemer would be just perfect for this trip.

Take care.

Henriette
